How move your Bemakers webshop under your own domain
This article will cover what is needed to set up your shop with Bemakers.
For example, your domain is myCompany.com and you want your webshop to be located at shop.myCompany.com. To do this you must first create a sub-domain named shop and then Bemakers will connect your webshop to that sub-domain.
What is needed to create a subdomain for your shop:
- Your login information for your domain provider account
- The name of the subdomain you would like to use
- This could be a new subdomain specifically for Bemakers or an existing subdomain
- To create a CNAME record for your subdomain
See the steps below
Steps to create the CNAME record:
- Log in to your domain provider’s website
- Find the DNS settings or domain management area
- Please do the following:
Check if you have an existing shop
DNS record (the name of the record is shop)
If you do have an existing record
- Edit the existing record
- The Host, Alias or Nane field will already say shop
- If the Type or Record Type field does not say CNAME then change it to CNAME
- Change the Content or Value field to domains.bemakers.shop
- You can leave the TTL or Time to Live at its default value
If you do not have an existing record
-
Find the button to create or add a new DNS record
-
In the Host or Alias field, enter the subdomain that you want to connect to your BM webshops
-
In the Type or Record Type field choose CNAME

Please inform Louise if you created a new subdomain for Bemakers or choose an existing subdomain.
