Setting Selling Methods for Your Products
In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to set selling methods for your products, allowing you to decide whether items are sold individually or by the case, along with defining minimum order quantities and case quantities.
Let's get started!
- Go to Products.
- Find the specific product you want to modify in your product list.
- Click on the product's name, then select the Edit button.
- Navigate to the Pricing & Selling method step by activating the corresponding tab.
- Within this section, you'll find the B2B selling method and B2C selling method cards.
By default, products are sold individually, allowing users to purchase one item at a time. However, depending on your product limitations and target customer base, you have the flexibility to customize the selling method for both B2C and B2B customers.
You can choose to maintain the same selling method for both B2C and B2B customers, ensuring consistency across your customer base. Alternatively, you may opt for different selling methods to address the unique needs of each customer segment.
For instance, you can enable B2C customers to continue purchasing individual items, such as a single bottle of product. Meanwhile, B2B customers can be required to purchase in bulk, perhaps a case containing multiple units, such as a case of 6 bottles.
Choosing a selling method:
-
- By the item. This allows customers to buy products individually. You can set the Minimum Order Quantity value if you want your customers to purchase a specific volume. Customers won't be able to add less than this amount to their cart.
- By the case. Alternatively, customers can buy products in bulk as a case with 2 or more items. Use the "Case quantity" field to specify that your customers can only add the product in certain multiples, based on the value you enter. You can also set the Minimum order quantity if needed.
Important Note: If you set a "Case quantity," please note that in the selection process, the "Minimum Order Quantity" will only allow you to choose multiples of the case quantity for consistency.
Don't forget to click on Save button to save changes.
How Selling Methods affects the Order Flow
Order Flow: When you manually create an order on the platform, the system will automatically enforce the selling method rules you've defined for the product. For example, if a product has a Minimum Order Quantity of 3, the platform will ensure that you can only select quantities starting from 3 or higher. Additionally, if you’ve defined a Case Quantity, the quantity dropdown will display options in multiples of the case size, such as 6, 12, etc., ensuring compliance with your settings. You can also manually input a custom quantity if needed
How Selling Methods affect the Webshops
Webshop: On the webshop, the same selling method rules are automatically applied to ensure consistency. Customers cannot add quantities below the Minimum Order Quantity or in non-compliant multiples if a Case Quantity is defined. For instance:
- If the Minimum Order Quantity is 3, the "Add to Cart" button will only allow starting at 3 units.
- If a Case Quantity of 6 is defined, customers can only add the product in multiples of 6.
